ICP Wind offers a wide range of Carbon Brushes, both in copper- and silver-graphite materials. Manufactured to perform in extreme conditions, including cold and warm climates, low or high humidity, for onshore and offshore located wind turbines.
Shaft grounding is one of the necessary actions to be provided during the operation of different types of motors and generators. Grounding brushes eliminate bearing currents that can lead to the formation of small pits, grooves, and serrations on the contact points of bearings. A damaged surface on the contact points of bearings will lead to increased wear and shortened service life. Therefore, grounding brushes protect bearings from damages and wind turbines from unnecessary downtime and costly repairs.
E1716-04 silver-graphite brush is the original grounding brush used by Vestas for several decades. Its unique combination of high conductivity and low friction ensures high performance and long service life. E1716-04 is a well-known brush worldwide with an excellent reputation. Carbex develops their brushes in close cooperation with several wind turbine OEM’s, including Vestas. Each brush is developed to match our customer's specific requirements. Additionally, all Carbex carbon brushes have been field-tested to prove high-quality performance in varying atmospheric conditions. Carbex carbon brushes are contamination tolerant, eliminating clog filters and preventing dust to sustain lifetime expectancy for your Wind Turbine application.
